Dalam Menyambut Hari Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia yang Ke-75 Menuju Indonesia Maju.Kemerdekaan Pers harus ditegakkan sehingga akan terwujud ketransparansian publik di Negara ini.

Kemerdekaan Pers dalam arti luas adalah,kebebasan berekspresi, kebebasan berpendapat,tidak ada kriminalisasi,dan intimidasi dari pihak manapun, kemerdekaan Pers secara kolektif dan hak berpendapat secara individu adalah Hak Asasi Manusia (HAM),Opini publik, harus dinyatakan secara terbuka.karena publik punya hak untuk tahu,jangan ada yang menghalang halangi tugas jurnalis untuk menyampaikan apa yang harus diketahui publik itu adalah inti dari Kemerdekaan Pers sesungguhnya, jika tidak adanya Kemerdekaan Pers berarti tidak adanya Hak Asasi Manusia (HAM).

Ketua Presidium Forum Pers Independent Indonesia (FPII) Kasihhati menjelaskan bahwa Kemerdekaan Pers tertuang dalam UU No.40 Tahun 1999 tentang pers,yang berasal dari kedaulatan rakyat dan digunakan sebagai perisai rakyat dari ancaman pelanggaran HAM dan kesewenang-wenangan Kekuasaan dan Uang,sehingga terjadilah Cek and Balance dalam kehidupan berbangsa dan bernegara.

Lanjutnya,Kemerdekaan Pers harus ditegakkan agar Opini Publik dapat terbuka, Pers harus berjalan secara profesional dan Independent tanpa adanya intimidasi,dan tidak dikuasai oleh yang punya Kekuasaan dan Uang di negara ini.
FPII berdiri sebagai garda terdepan Pembela insan pers dari ketidak adilan,dan FPII akan tetap konsisten sampai kapanpun,FPII juga mengajak semua komponen dimasyarakat untuk mengingat jasa jasa para Pahlawan yang sudah mengorbankan nyawa untuk kemerdekaan Indonesia,

“Kemerdekaan Pers Harus di tegakkan untuk Indonesia Maju,Dirgahayu Indonesiaku Ke-75.”tutupnya.
